David E. Drake, DMD

Having practiced in Chambersburg for 38+ years, Dr. David Drake finds his work incredibly rewarding. Almost everyday, Dr. David runs into former patients; their continued satisfaction, even years after completing their orthodontic treatment, emphasizes the value of the high-level service and skill Dr. David provides to each and every one of his patients.

Dr. David grew up outside of Pittsburgh in Ambridge, PA. His father, the first in his family to attend college, instilled in Dr. David a strong work ethic and the importance of family. This hard work ethic instilled by his father helped Dr. David excel both in school and in sports, as he became the captain of his high school football team while also receiving All-State honors his senior year. Dr. David went on to attend the University of Pittsburgh on a football scholarship and while at Pitt, Dr. David continued to letter in football for three years and was eventually elected Captain of Pitt’s 1967 team. He graduated from Pitt with a B.A. in Economics, and a minor in Chemistry, while also completing the pre-dental/medical based curriculum. After graduation, Dr. David returned home to work for a year in the steel mills of his hometown before attending the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine for four years. After dental school, Dr. David also went on to complete his orthodontic residency at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine receiving his Certificate in Orthodontics after two years.

Following his formal education, Dr. David began practicing orthodontics in 1975 in both Chambersburg and York, PA, while also working at the Hershey Boys School. He permanently relocated to the Chambersburg and Shippensburg area in 1977, where he has been located for the last 38+ years.
